Never thought it would happen to me, but...

Get your mind out of the gutter. This isn't one of THOSE stories. Nope, this one is a moment of basking in the glow of something truly amazing. I will be the first to say that I am blessed to do what I love for a living. I get to write. What makes it cooler is that it is something I have long been a fan of...ZOMBIES.

Things started to really take off just over two years ago. (Has it really/only been that long?!) I know there are some who do better, and others that do worse than me when it comes to sales. But last month was a landmark. First, I had a title that broke 3,000 units sold for the month. Up until then, I'd only ever broken 1,000 of a single title in a month. I flirted with 2K, but never saw it happen. In September, I shot right past 2K and went straight to 3K! I kept thinking there had to be some sort of mistake.

To add to my happiness, I broke the 10,000 total units sold on Audible! Now, again, there might be many writers who shot past that or do so on a monthly basis. I do about 1,000 audio books a month, and since DEAD: The Ugly Beginning came out on Audible, it has been a game changer for me. I remember when I used to MAYBE sell 30-40 units a month.

I actually feel like a writer. Say what you will about "doing it for the love of...blah, blah, blah..." Yes, I love what I do, but my blessings come from being able to make a living at what I love. And that means YOU have made this happen.

I know that I have said it before, but it bares repeating...

Thank you.

  1. Keep doing what you love, you really are a very good writer and on your way to being great. The Stand has always been my favorite, I read it when it was first released so that makes me ummm old, but in the near future I believe one of your books will probably replace The Stand. Keep writing

    1. That is a huge compliment. And yes, I read it when it first came out as well. I remember being so excited when the paperback said it was "Soon to be a major motion picture released by Paramount and directed by George A. Romero".
