What the hell do I know?

Last Friday, I talked about how much more traffic my blog gets when the posts are slanted towards negativity or confrontation. Then, I took my wife to a dinner at a fine restaurant that looks down on the Willamette River and across to the West Hills. Of course that post had plenty of traffic...but then again, it did sort of fall in to the whole "confrontational" category...

So my question is...you are the ones who come back here. What do you want to see?
Beautiful women like Celia? (the amazing narrator for my That Ghoul Ava audio book)

Tales of my dining exploits? Yeah...that "bag" is 100% chocolate...and it was even more delicious than it looks.

Pictures of cute puppies?

 Happy axolotls?

Everyday life stuff like hanging out with friends and watching football?

Personal stuff that lets you peek behind the curtain of my real life?

Like I said, you are the ones who come here and spend the time. My job is to entertain (inform?) you. So...this thing has a comment section. You tell me...what brings you back? I have a few blogs that I visit. Some regularly, others depending on the subject. For instance, I never miss a Catie Rhodes "Playlist" blog. Those are some of my favorites. I USED to look forward to 30 minute reader from Greg Carrico. Granted, it first caught my eye because he was reading Dead: The Ugly Beginning, but he also had some other titles. The premise is clever and kept me entertained. (I miss that post, Greg.) I check out Armand Rosamilia pretty regularly because he has some great stuff and I really enjoy his take. But most others, I just sorta come and go whenever.

So...how do I make this a "must see" site for you? Here is your chance to be heard.

Now...do not miss Friday. I will be giving a sneak peak at something from Midnight Movie Creature Feature 2, as well as listing a bunch of upcoming promotional giveaway stuff!

  1. I like a mixed bag Todd. I look forward to and read every post that comes along. I think to focus on one thing would eventually become stale and even the most populate 'topics' would lose traffic and become stale.

  2. I like seeing pictures of your dog because I love dogs. I always read (though don't necessarily comment) on your Walking Dead recaps.

I also like hearing your thoughts on life in general. You know, the stuff you've learned along the way. And I find those posts get a LOT of views when I write them for my blog. So just an idea.

  3. I enjoy all... well, most... Ok some... One... at least one of your posts.
LOL. JK, I like it all. Life is full of the good and the bad. I enjoy your blog because of your no BS attitude, and I find that I agree with your opinions more often than not (so you must be right, right?) I say post what you feel like posting, keep it authentic, and readers will keep coming.

I particularly enjoy your reviews, and your Walking Dead posts, but I haven't seen any of the Walking Dead from this half of the season, so I've been steering clear.

Maybe I'll bring the 30 minute reader back for you, Todd. It would have been boring lately, 'cause I've only had time to read my own stuff. Now that Children of the Plague is in the bag, I can read something more interesting than the stuff that's already in my head.

    1. I read it for the same reason I read your books-you wrote it. I enjoy the blog for all the reasons above. I like your "Vinnie" stuff, not because I'm a sports fan, but because Vinnie's style of speaking makes me grin. I love to hear about your dog because that makes you human. I like to hear about your dinner dates, as that tells me you and Denise are making things work, because she is good for you (so don't mess that up). Jacob watches the WD series, so your recap helps me out with that conversation occassionally. I always am happy to hear about the personal stuff, so I agree with Mr. Greg. It is very nice to hear "your voice" in your writings. Okay, the pictures of beautiful women don't do anything for me, but hey, 10,000 beer commercials can't be wrong, ya know? The guys have to have a reason or 2 to come here and that might be both reasons for some!

    2. I forgot about Vinnie! I've only read one Vinnie post, but I loved it. Though I must admit to understanding electrovalent bonding more than I do most sports... and its been a long time since I've cracked a chemistry book.

    3. I would be stoked to see the return of the 30 minute reader. You actually made me kind of jealous and I SO-O wanted to steal your idea. But it would be great to see it return.

As for Vinnie...I may have to get a message to the Witness Protection people about letting him visit. (Monthly during the non-football season).

    4. Notice how I ignored the elctro-thinga majiggy...I never did get into science...History? Different story...but science? If you recall that Comedy Central series about L'il Bush..and the Dick Chenney characcter always spoke in "rrrarr-rurr-rarr-rarr" mumbles...that is what I hear in science class...that or the teacher from The Peanuts.

  5. I like what you do now. It's sort of eclectic and I never know what you're going to talk about from one day to the next. Keeps it interesting.

    1. Seems to be the general consensus. I guess it is just that writer in me that wonders if he is on the right track...

  6. I read because you are my favorite zombie writer (have all your books)and you always have something interesting on your blog which I often g+1. The only thing I don't read is the Walking Dead posts because we are way behind in the UK.I'll be G+1 this too.

    1. I am humbled and thankful. I will be the first to admit that I write because I WANT people to like my stuff and when you become anybody's "favorite" anything...I think it is something that should not be taken for granted.
