A final call out to Tara, a HUGE contest, a request, and Vinnie...

First, to those who may have missed it, I just received my shipment of Zomblog: Snoe, the fourth book in the Zomblog series. It comes out this Halloween, but will be available at my book signing on October 27th at Laurie's Paperback Exchange (noon-to 4pm). I have ten "commemorative" copies that will only be available at the signing, so I hope to see you there.

Next, I still have not heard from the winner of the NEO--Tara Hall. So, if you are out there Tara, or if you know Tara, shoot me an email. Somebody tell her she won! If I don't hear from her by Monday, I will draw a new winner from the remaining bunch of you wonderful individuals who helped me in my support for NaNoWriMo.

That covered my request and my call out to Tara...now for the HUGE contest. In conjunction with the outstanding guys at one of the most entertaining podcasts around-- Booked, I have an offer almost too good to refuse. If you look at the scroll on the top of my blog, you will see a vast array of titles that have been released by May December Publications. Many of you have read one or several of those titles. However, for whatever reason, never got around to leaving a review. (Good or bad, I accept all reviews as one person's opinion.) So all you have to do is write a review and make the comment "I hope the guys on Booked podcast are paying attention." Let me repeat, if you read a title and have a "less than glowing" review for it, THAT IS OKAY! This isn't a call for positive reviews. On December 15th--in conjunction with my release of Dead: Siege & Survival, I will be selecting a winner at random. That person will receive a book a month in 2013 from the May December Publications catalog (new release or past release, it is the winner's option).

So, now I will step aside and let Vinnie have his say...

Yo, Vinnie DeSporto here, so listen up. Well, this weekend marked the return of the "regular" NFL refs. Ask the coach in Green Bay if he feels any better. These so-called "regular" refs blew more calls in dat one game then the replacements did in three weeks. it was only by da grace of God and the superhuman ability of Aaron Rodgers and Clay Matthews dat the Pack sent Drew Brees and the Saints to the 0-fer cellar with a hapless Cleveland Brown squad. Lets face it folks, refs are refs. Were those circus clowns from the first three weeks bad? Sure. But to think dat the games would suddenly be perfectly officiated is like picking up a cannoli at 7-11 and thinking it would taste anything like Mama Celeste's homemade treats.

Now, some of you may be scratching your head at my pick last week. Dat's what I get for letting Estelle "help" me at work. I don't go in da kitchen and tell her how to wash plates or follow her to da laundry room and advise her on when it would behoove her to add fabric softener. So, no more! Once again, my heart and my confidence in Atlanta says give up the 3 points. R2D2 may as well be the quarterback for Washington this week.

Now, I'd love to grace you wit my Pus Bag of da Week, but since Todd couldn't shut up, and most of youse ain't got enough attention span to qualify as a goldfish, I'll be on my way. Steppin' on toes from da Rose City, I'm Vinnie DeSporto, in yer face.
